Meet MFC’s New Coalition Director!
We’re excited to welcome Leslie Krueger as Milwaukee Food Council’s first Coalition Director! Leslie is a public health dietitian, community organizer, and educator who believes the people most affected by our food system should have a real voice, and real power, in shaping its future.
Leslie has been part of MFC’s work for several years, most recently serving as Vice President of the Board. Now, she’s bringing that experience into a staff role focused on building relationships, developing leaders, strengthening coalitions through a shared framework and transparent communication, and growing the collective power of MFC’s members. She’ll work alongside coalition leaders and members from across the food system, from those who grow and produce food to those who prepare, distribute, sell, serve, and eat it - to find common ground, build solidarity, and turn shared concerns into collective action.
“I’m truly humbled by the opportunity to work alongside coalition members, food-system professionals, and community members who are ready to learn, grow, and take action together. I’m excited to support people in building collective power around the issues they care about and working toward a local food system that nourishes our communities, protects our environment, and creates a thriving future for everyone.”
— Leslie Krueger, Coalition Director

Shoutout to local orgs. like African American Round Table . Their community-led Feed the Change campaign provides resources to connect with and speak to elected officials about issues that matter to them, including, food sovereignty.
